While change is absolutely inevitable, transformation can be a conscious choice, atleast that’s what the new management at Gobind Body Builders has been successful in proving. The year 2019 proved to be a challenging year for the company and entailed exigent changes in the company’s management order, which had been going strong since the last four decades. Yet, Gobind Body Builders, in line with its commitment to continuous improvement, has used this change as a new avenue to do things a little more efficiently.
“Well, the change was organizational, and there was no way we could let this trickle down to our clients. It was hard times for sure, but we used this change to bring along all the remodeling that were long due. In the last few months, we have tweaked both the system and the infrastructure to do what we are best at, even more efficiently,” states Managing Director, Sukhmander Gill, who along with his wife Manpreet Gill, General Manager, Marketing & Communications, has big plans of taking the company to newer heights.

A company’s productivity is directly proportional to employee morale. Investing in employee well-being actually leads to job satisfaction which ultimately manifests pronounce positive effects on productivity as well as tangible benefits to a business bottom line.
When the new management at Gobind Body took over, employee well-being was a priority in its agenda. The company’s new vision was a form of wellness that transcended catering for employees' physical well-being and give them the tools to discover their respective purposes. This has been successful in fostering a positive sense of ownership down to the ground level and invigorating the sense of responsibility among each individual. This ensured a pronounced commitment to quality and productivity.

“To maintain a seamless experience for our customers, it’s indispensable for all the people and departments to function in sync with each other. As part of our new manifesto, we are concentrating on building up collaborations between departments, right from the ground level by structuring our team’s interactions with other departments. It involves a shared vision, mutual respect, and in-depth understanding of each other’s role in a project with the goal of achieving excellent business outcomes and outstanding customer experience,” states Gill.
Greater Focus on R&D and Designing

“Strong design can be at the heart of both disruptive and sustained success in any manufacturing setting. This stands especially true for bus bodies, as one of the most important features of a bus is its aesthetics. A bus needs to command a road presence and turn heads; that has been our sole aim since the inception of Gobind Body Builders. Now, we are concentrating on taking this a step ahead with the help of our R&D and Design departments,” says Gill.
As part of its new design culture, Gobind Body Builders has been constantly training its Design and R&D teams to use the latest resources so as to come up with state-of-the-art product innovation. The company’s heavy investment on the said departments is a testimony of its promise to come up with bus bodies that are not only visually rich but also promise unmatched strength and fuel efficiency.
Shorter Turnaround Time
Last but not the least, the company has focused on delivering projects within the least turnaround time under the aegis of Sukhmander Gill. An absolute customer-centric step, this has, in the initial step itself, proven to be extremely beneficial for the company. “So, delivery time is of crucial importance to fleet owners when it comes to bus body building because they have huge EMIs to pay every month. Normally, it takes around 70-75 days to build a Sleeper bus body in India, but through our streamlined processes, we ensure that we take only around 60 days to build a sleeper bus body, thus giving a 15-day head start to fleet owners,” avers Gill.
As a whole, the new management at Gobind Body Builders has overhauled the company’s identity and has aligned itself in building up a culture that addresses the proliferating needs of the increasingly connected and discerning customer of today. With new management and rehashed goals, the company has already registered a warm response and is optimistic about a positive future.
